Doha: Al Rayyan secured a 2-0 victory against Al Wakrah in the closing match of Week 8 of the 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League season at the Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium.

According to Qatar News Agency, Rodrigo Moreno opened the scoring for Al Rayyan in the 36th minute, capitalizing on a fine assist from Tiago Rafael Da Silva. The match remained fiercely contested, with Al Wakrah's Gerard Sancho nearly equalizing in the 33rd minute, only to see his shot bounce off the top of the right post.

In the second half, Roger Guedes extended Al Rayyan's lead in the 81st minute following a defensive lapse by Al Wakrah. The error occurred when Al Wakrah's goalkeeper, Saoud Al Khater, inadvertently set up Guedes by rolling the ball out to a teammate, allowing Guedes to take advantage and score.

This win elevates Al Rayyan's total to 13 points in the league standings, while Al Wakrah remains at 11 points.
