Doha: The Amir Basketball Cup resumes Monday, with two matches in Group A. Al Sadd face Al Gharafa in the first match, while Al Ahli face Al Arabi in the second.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Ahli lead Group A with six points from three matches and are looking to maintain their lead. Al Arabi, meanwhile, are also seeking a victory to strengthen their position, sitting in second place with four points from two matches.
Al Rayyan secured their place in the semi-finals after topping Group B with six points from three consecutive wins. A decisive match will be held between Al Wakrah and Al Shamal to determine the second team that will advance to the semi-finals. Al Khor, meanwhile, were eliminated from the tournament after losing three matches.
The first round will be held in a single-round league format. Group A includes Al Ahli, Al Sadd, Al Gharafa, Al Arabi, and Qatar SC, while Group B includes Al Rayyan, Al Khor, Al Wakrah, and Al Shamal.
The group winner advance directly to the semi-finals, while the second- and third-place teams will play a knockout round to determine the remaining two teams to advance to the semi-finals, which will be played in a best-of-three format.
The final will be held at the Al Gharafa Sports Club on May 22.
