Doha: Spanish coach Felix Sanchez of Al Sadd emphasized the importance of his team's upcoming clash against Al Shahania, set to take place Friday at Al Bayt Stadium as part of Week 4 of the 2025-2026 Doha Bank Stars League. Al Sadd coach Felix Sanchez spoke to the media ahead of the match, saying: "We have returned from the international break, so we need to know the players' physical readiness, examine their condition and prepare for the match."
According to Qatar News Agency, Sanchez highlighted the challenges of league matches, stating, "All league matches are difficult and require a lot of effort, and every team needs points, but we are confident that we will be ready to play on Friday and perform well." He emphasized the significance of monitoring players returning from national duties, ensuring they are fully prepared for the game.
Sanchez further noted, "Matches are always different after returning from the international break because our players come from different countries. We will try hard to prepare well and play a good match against Al Shahania. We know we need points, and we also know that the match will be difficult."
On the other side, Al Shahania coach Santi Denia acknowledged the challenge his team faces against the reigning champions. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Denia said: "We had a week to prepare for the match, and we used this time to prepare well. It will be a difficult match against Al Sadd, who have a coach with extensive experience in Qatar football, Felix Sanchez."
Denia added, "It is true that we missed many opportunities, but we must continue to work to translate those opportunities into goals."
As it stands, Al Sadd sits fourth in the league table with six points, level on goal difference with Al Gharafa and Al Rayyan. Al Shahania, meanwhile, occupies tenth place with just one point from the opening three rounds.
