Al sadd: Al Sadd reached the quarterfinals of HH the Amir Cup 2026 after defeating Al Markhiya 2-1 at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium on Saturday in the Round of 16 of the 54th edition of the tournament.

According to Qatar News Agency, Spanish striker Rafa Mujica scored both goals for Al Sadd, finding the net in the 75th minute from a penalty and again in the 77th minute. Al Markhiya's sole goal was scored by Senegalese striker Mamadou Naby Sarr in the second minute of stoppage time (90+2).

Al Sadd is set to face Al Shamal in the quarterfinals. Al Shamal secured its place with a 2-1 victory over Qatar SC.
