Al Sailiya SC Signs Algerian Adam Ounas from Al Sadd SC

Doha: Al Sailiya SC announced Friday the signing of Algerian player Adam Ounas from Al Sadd, without disclosing the length of the contract. The club stated that the 28-year-old Algerian would bolster the first football team for upcoming events.

According to Qatar News Agency, Ounas transferred to Al Sadd in November 2024 from French club Lille, where he had played since 2022 and made 26 appearances. The Algerian player began his career with Bordeaux in France, advancing from the youth ranks to the first team in 2015. During his time at Bordeaux, he played 60 matches, scored 10 goals, and provided 6 assists until 2019.

Ounas's career then took him to Napoli in Italy, where he participated in 62 matches and scored 7 goals over five years. During his stint at Napoli, he was loaned out to several clubs, including Nice, Cagliari, and Crotone, before making a permanent move to Lille in France. Internationally, Ounas has appeared 28 times for the Algerian national team, scoring 5 goals, and was part of the squad that clinched the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Currently, Al Sailiya sits in 11th place in the Qatari Football League (Doha Bank Stars League), with no points after losing three matches.
