Al Thumama: Al Shahaniya SC secured their place in the 53rd Amir Cup quarter-finals by defeating second-division side Mesaimeer 2-0 in the last 16 match held at Al Thumama Stadium.

According to Qatar News Agency, Belgian Francesco Antonucci opened the scoring for Al Shahaniya in the 41st minute. The lead was doubled shortly after halftime by Dutch striker Pelle van Amersfoort, who found the back of the net in the 48th minute.

Mesaimeer's challenges intensified when they were reduced to 10 men in the 84th minute due to Boubacar Rafael's red card. Al Shahaniya now awaits the outcome of the match between Al-Ahli and Qatar SC, scheduled to be played later today, to determine their next opponent in the quarter-finals.
