Doha: Qatari SC Al Shamal announced Thursday the official signing of player Akram Tawfik from Egyptian club Al Ahly for the next season. The club stated that Tawfik will commence his career with Al Shamal in the 2025-2026 sports season, starting in less than three months.

According to Qatar News Agency, the club plans to reveal the contract details at a press conference next Saturday. Tawfik is expected to be a valuable addition to Al Shamal Club due to his technical abilities and experience with Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team.

The decision to secure Tawfik was influenced by the club's upcoming challenges and the need to reinforce its team with players capable of performing in multiple positions. Al Shamal aims to build on its previous performance, having finished sixth in the league last season with 32 points.
