Doha: ALECSO’s Education Department Director Dr. Rami Iskandar commended Qatar’s significant contributions to advancing education both nationally and across the Arab region through innovative initiatives and strategic partnerships aimed at improving education quality and development.
According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Iskandar emphasized that the conference theme underscores shared challenges and aspirations, and the choice of this theme by Arab Ministers of Education highlights its critical importance and alignment with ALECSO’s strategies for sustainable development. He stressed the value of joint Arab consultation and collaboration amidst transformative changes and challenges in education.
Dr. Iskandar highlighted the ambitious Arab program for comprehensive education, which includes various projects and activities. ALECSO aims to provide plans, strategies, and training programs to support national efforts in creating educational systems that ensure equal opportunities and educational equity. These efforts align with the 2022 Transforming Education Summit outcomes and the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, promoting social integration, tolerance, coexistence, and building cohesive societies.
Addressing teacher empowerment, Dr. Iskandar identified it as central to educational development and transformation. He reiterated ALECSO’s dedication to supporting education in the Arab world through visionary approaches based on thorough analysis of challenges and opportunities, focusing on developing educational strategies that anticipate future technological and social shifts.
Dr. Iskandar also mentioned a forthcoming document titled “Inclusive Education and Teacher Empowerment: A Strategic Vision for Education in the Arab World,” which offers a proposed vision from ALECSO to guide Arab nations. He lauded Qatar’s efforts in hosting the conference, underscoring its commitment to education as a tool for sustainable development and its leadership in initiatives that uphold education as a fundamental right and a pathway to social and economic progress.
