The first meeting of the leaders of Al-Quds Arab cultural institutions kicked off in Rabat on Tuesday.
Convened by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in partnership with Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, the three-day meeting discusses Al-Quds Arab cultural institutions' urgent needs to lay out an action plan to support and accompany them in carrying out their activities, launch initiatives to preserve, safeguard and promote the cultural heritage of Al-Quds, in addition to consolidating Arab identity for the Holy City and promoting its cultural and civilized stature.
Director-General of ALECSO Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar outlined that the convention of this meeting is included in the implementation of the decisions of the 23rd session of the Conference of Ministers in charge of Cultural Affairs of the Arab World that was convened in Riyadh in 2022 during which the ALECSO recommended for setting out a joint action program with the Palestinian Ministry of Culture to protect and promote Arab culture in the Holy City of Al-Quds.
