Algeria, Tunisia Hold Talks to Strengthen Military Cooperation

Algiers: Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of National Defence, Maj. Gen. Mohamed Salah Benbicha, met in Algiers on Wednesday with Chief of Staff of the Tunisian Land Army, Mohamed El Ghoul, to discuss ways to reinforce bilateral cooperation. Their discussions centered on enhancing coordination to address security threats, particularly in securing joint borders to mitigate risks related to terrorism, transnational organized crime, illegal immigration, and various forms of trafficking, including narcotics.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to collaborate in tackling these challenges. The focus was on developing strategic initiatives to improve border security and intelligence-sharing mechanisms to effectively combat the threats posed by illicit activities.
