New York - Together - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has appealed for $1.21 billion to deal with the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and to respond to the needs in the West Bank as violence increases. The agency's emergency appeal covers UNRWA's relief efforts until the end of this year and aims to respond to the most urgent needs of 1.7 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and more than 200,000 refugees in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
