Doha: The International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) organized an anti-doping awareness seminar Wednesday on the sidelines of the ongoing World Snooker Championship (Qatar 2025), currently taking place in Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, the event saw the participation of several male and female athletes competing in the tournament, along with representatives from the Qatar Anti-Doping Agency. The seminar, led by Ota Kon from the Polish Anti-Doping Agency, aimed to promote clean and fair sport in line with the guidelines of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Kon provided valuable insights into the agency's operational framework and emphasized the importance of athletes being informed about permitted medications and nutritional supplements. Representatives from the Qatar Anti-Doping Agency highlighted the agency's efforts in implementing global compliance standards for athletes.
For his part, IBSF President Mubarak Al Khayarin underscored the significance of such educational and interactive seminars in raising athletes' awareness about the risks of doping and in fostering a culture of clean sport.
