Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, the Minister of Information, announced that the application period has ended for the eighth edition of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism. The minister said that a jury of experts and specialists will begin to evaluate the participating works and select the winners in the categories of the award. Dr. Al Noaimi affirmed the continuous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for Bahraini journalism, which has provided opportunities for responsible freedom of opinion and expression, enabling the press to play an integral role in national development through responsible speech and opinion. He emphasised the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa of the award, which had a major impact on its distinction and motivated journalists to enter the competition. The minister commended the works submitted for the award, as they represent the progress and development achieved by the Bahraini press. Dr. Al Noaimi noted that this year's a ward received a high demand for participation, particularly since it celebrates young media talent from colleges of journalism and media, in addition to adding new categories to the award.
