Cairo: The Arab Charter Committee for Human Rights organized an event on Monday to mark Arab Human Rights Day 2025 in Cairo, Egypt, in collaboration with the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt. Representatives from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the Arab Permanent Committee for Human Rights, the Arab Parliament for Human Rights, and the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, along with several Arab public figures, participated in the event.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Chairman of the Arab Charter Committee for Human Rights, Counselor Jaber Saleh Al Marri, expressed gratitude to the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt for hosting the event. He highlighted the progress made in implementing the Charter's goals at the Arab level, with a particular focus on this year's theme of Arab Human Rights Day, "The Right to Food." HE Secretary-General of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali, elaborated on the cooperative efforts between the Network and the Arab Charter Committee for Human Rights, emphasizing the positive outcomes achieved in recent years for the benefit of the Arab human rights system.
Chairman of the Arab Permanent Committee for Human Rights, Ambassador Talal Al Mutairi, addressed the ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, stressing the importance of addressing these issues on various levels and noting their priority status on the Arab agenda.
