The Arab League signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Media Group (CMG) to further strengthen cooperation between the two sides. The League stated that the MoU, signed by its Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit and Chairman of the CMG Shen Haixiong, comes as part of CMG's efforts to increase humanitarian and cultural exchanges with Arab countries prior to the 2nd China-Arab States Summit set to be held in 2026 in Beijing. It also aims to contribute to building a China-Arab community with a shared future through media means, in addition to the MoU falling within the framework of the China-Arab digital archive initiative. Aboul-Gheit praised the solid and fruitful cooperation between the League and China and highlighted the success of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forums (CASCF) held over twenty years, notably its last session held in May in Beijing which included high-level participation from the Chinese President, leaders of Arab countries, and many Arab foreign ministers.
