Doha: The Arab League has condemned the Iranian attack on Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, considering it a completely unacceptable assault on its sovereignty.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Monday, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit affirmed the Arab League's full solidarity with the State of Qatar in confronting this Iranian violation of international law.

Aboul Gheit also called for swift action to de-escalate the situation rather than expanding the conflict in an unintended manner, which would entail dire consequences.

He stressed the right of Arab states to defend and maintain their sovereignty in the face of any external attacks.
