Doha: The Arab League has called out the decision taken by the Security Cabinet of the Israeli occupation state to endorse the establishment of 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Arab League emphasized that this decision represents a direct challenge to the international community's opposition to the settlement activity and breaches international law, reaffirming the illegitimacy of these settlements.
The League's statement highlighted that this settlement expansion aims to obstruct the formation of a contiguous Palestinian state, illustrating the nature of the Israeli government, which is heavily influenced by extremists and settlers.
Furthermore, the statement pointed out that such expansion efforts will never render the settlements legitimate and condemned the violence perpetrated by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank, describing it as a form of terror conducted under the protection of the Israeli state's official apparatuses.
