Damascus, The General Union of Arab Writers has expressed condemnation in the strongest terms of the recent Israeli act of aggression that targeted a residential neighborhood in Damascus, stressing that it is a new crime added to its previous crimes. In a statement, the Union strongly denounced the recent crime committed by the Zionist entity against Syria's sovereignty which was represented in the act of aggression that claimed the lives of a number of civilians in a residential neighborhood in Damascus. The statement added that this act of aggression has exposed the reality of the Zionist entity which claims that it respects the civilians' right to life and not to intimidate or target them in times of war under the international legitimacy and the human rights principles. The statement signed by the Secretary General of the General Union of Arab Writers and Head of the General Syndicate of the Egyptian Writers Union, Dr. Alaa Abdel Hadi, affirmed that the General Secretariat of Arab Writers, while condem ning in the strongest terms this aggression, calls on the Arab nation and all honorable people in the world to condemn and denounce the Israeli actions towards Syria.
