Arabian Gulf Padel Championship: Qatari Men’s National Team Triumphs Over Saudi Arabia 2-1 in Second Round

Doha: Qatari men's national team defeated the Saudi team 2-1 in the second round of the Arabian Gulf Padel Championship, which Qatar is currently hosting at Padel In courts until September 19.

According to Qatar News Agency, the championship, organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation, began yesterday and features participation from Gulf national teams, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.

The tournament is structured in a league format, requiring each team to play three matches against their opposing team. The Qatari men's national team secured victory by winning two out of the three matches against the Saudi team.

The first match saw the duo of Rashid Nawaf and Hassan Wali winning in two straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. In the second match, Mohammed Saadoun and Mishari Nawaf also claimed victory in two straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. However, Ali Al Saadi and Khalid Saadoun lost the third match in two sets, 5-7, 6-2, and 0-6.

This marks the second consecutive victory for the Qatari team, who previously defeated Oman 3-0 in the first round. The Qatari team is set to face the Kuwaiti team on Wednesday in the third round of the tournament.
