Manama, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, met today with citizens representing different sectors of the community. The minister expressed his appreciation for their participation in this gathering, which represents the ministry's efforts to promote cooperation, maintain social cohesion, and uphold Bahrain's national values and principles. The meeting comes as part of the broader initiative to strengthen the spirit of unity and preserve social stability. The minister emphasised the achievements of Bahrain with the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He said one of the most prominent achievements was the security, stability, and continuous development within the Kingdom, which are further supported by the social values of generosity, respect, and tolerance that are deeply embedded in Bahraini society. These enduring characteris tics that are rooted in the nation's traditions, he said, form the cornerstone of Bahrain's social cohesion, which must be preserved. Addressing recent regional developments, the minister reiterated the importance of national unity and the responsible national spirit in safeguarding civil and social peace during these sensitive times. He commended the attendees for their discipline and sense of responsibility, noting that national wisdom is crucial for maintaining social harmony. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah also addressed concerns about certain law violations, which may have been influenced by external pressures or foreign allegiances. He noted that loyalty to foreign entities is an act of treason and a violation of the law, which will be addressed in a manner consistent with the approach of the state that upholds rights and the rule of law. The minister called for early intervention in such matters through community engagement and encouraged the attendees to play an active role in promoting securit y and social peace through responsible advice, guidance, and awareness. After the minister's remarks, views were exchanged on national topics and the role of society in addressing challenges effectively. They also emphasised the importance of collective national efforts, social solidarity, and maintaining a unified stance to protect Bahrain's social fabric. On their part, the attendees expressed their appreciation for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's recognition of Bahrain's solidarity and the unity of its people, who are bound by shared values of cooperation and collective responsibility. They also praised the confidence of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in the responsible national spirit of the Bahraini people.
