Doha: The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' recently organized a seminar titled "Shaping the Future of Development: Insights from Switzerland's Approach to Digitalization, Sustainability and Productivity" in collaboration with the Swiss Business Council. The event was graced by the presence of HE President of the Public Works Authority 'Ashghal', Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, HE Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the State of Qatar, Florence Tinguely Mattli, and various contracting companies and senior officials from the Authority, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
According to Qatar News Agency, the seminar addressed several topics, including low-emission construction materials, green roof technologies, the circular economy, and digital platforms aimed at increasing productivity and quality control, as well as smart buildings. Discussions also focused on opportunities for cooperation in exchanging experiences and adopting advanced technical solutions to develop projects and achieve high standards of quality and efficiency.
HE Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer highlighted the robust relationship between Qatar and the Swiss Confederation, emphasizing that such meetings demonstrate a mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation in advanced technology and strategic partnerships that bolster infrastructure development. He noted that Ashghal is committed to a comprehensive strategy aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, prioritizing smart, sustainable, and flexible infrastructure while focusing on digital transformation, automation, smart building concepts, and sustainability standards.
HE Ambassador Florence Tinguely Mattli remarked on Switzerland's focus on innovation and advanced materials, stating, "Swiss industries strive to achieve quality and accuracy by focusing on innovation, digitization, energy-saving technologies or advanced materials to provide exceptional services and long-lasting, high-value products."
Dr. Fariborz Samadian, President of the Swiss Business Council in Qatar, added that the seminar underscores Switzerland's dedication to offering high-quality solutions that enhance sustainability, efficiency, and productivity in Qatar's construction and infrastructure sector.
