President of the Qatar Equestrian Federationand Modern Pentathlon, Badr bin Muhammad Al Darwish extolled Qatar's showjumping squad who finished second at the 19th Asian Games, currently being held in the Hangzhou, China.
Riders Bassem Hassan Mohammed, Faleh Al Ajmi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, and Rashid Towaim Ali Al Marri secured silver on Wednesday in the tournament that runs through Oct. 8.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency , Al Darwish ascribed the achievement to the wise Qatari leadership, highlighting HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani's unrelented support and follow-up that led to the impressive performance.
He added that the achievement was the result of the diligence of the equestrian squad and the distinguished supervision by the coaches and administrators.
Al Darwish also hailed the strong participation of the dressage squad comprising two men and two women, after a 19-year-hiatus from Asian Games.
Saudi Arabia claimed gold while the UAE came third
