The Qatari junior handball team lost to its Kuwaiti counterpart 28/32 Monday in its second match in the main round of the 10th Asian Junior Handball Championship, currently being held in Jordan and continuing until September 14, and qualifying for the World Championship 2025 in Slovenia. This is the second consecutive loss for the Qatari team in this round, as it had also lost its first match to the Japanese team 20/39. The Qatari team qualified for the main round after coming in second in Group 3 in the preliminary round, where it defeated the UAE team in the first match f 31/21, while losing the second match to the Saudi team 26/43. The top five teams in the Asian Championship advance to the World Championship 2025 in Slovenia. The Qatari junior handball team won the Asian Championship title twice in 2010 in Abu Dhabi and 2012 in Manama, and it also came in second place three times in 2006 in Tehran, 2008 in Amman, and 2014 also in Amman.
