Doha: The Department of Islamic Research and Studies at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), concluded a three-day symposium focused on cognitive foundation for secondary school students.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Awqaf stated that the symposium aimed to build cognitive immunity among male secondary school students by enhancing their understanding of Islamic law, values, and identity. His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani, Director of the Department of Research and Islamic Studies, emphasized the importance of the youth in shaping a promising future and the department's commitment to addressing their challenges through programs that promote cultural fortification and preserve their identity.
The symposium, part of the department's ongoing cultural projects, chose the theme of 'Cultural Incubators' for its first season. This theme highlights the role of libraries, mosques, schools, and councils in fostering thought, knowledge, and awareness. The event was attended by 218 students and 14 supervisors from seven secondary schools, divided into three groups across various mosques.
The symposium covered six main topics, prepared by Dr. Muhammed Saeed Al Hajri, including the concept of constants and variables, their importance in Islamic law, and methods for addressing doubts and ensuring cognitive immunity.
