Bahrain an advocate of global peace and coexistence: Speaker

Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam affirmed that the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa made Bahrain a land for global peace and coexistence, based on its national principles, its civilizational initiatives and international contributions in supporting peace and stability to achieve development and prosperity.

The Speaker added that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, has and will always continue to support all international efforts to achieve peace, establish security, and participate in various international alliances seeking to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and end conflicts, disputes, and crises.

He praised the efforts of the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in establishing dialogue and coexistence between religions, cultures and civilizations, and enhancing Bahrain's role in this field, through a balanced foreign policy, diplomatic efforts, and humanitarian projects and initiatives.

The Speaker made a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Peace observed on September 21 of every year, noting the government’s efforts in upholding the values and principles of international peace and security, as a foundation for sustainable development and the future.

Al Musallam said that Bahrain and its long-standing and successful experience in establishing peace and coexistence, is constantly working towards achieving peace, in a society of justice and equality, combating all forms of racism, discrimination and hate speech, and respecting human rights.

He noted the importance of the role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting and strengthening the efforts of the international community, to create a determination to acquire just and peace, which ensures safety, decent living, and development for countries, peoples and societies.
