Bahrain Bourse participated in the HSBC GCC Exchanges London Conference 2024, held from June 10-13. Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, was present. Bahrain Bourse aimed to attract international investments and enhance its cooperation with global fund and asset managers through its participation at the conference. HSBC's third GCC conference brings together senior leaders representing all GCC markets with international investors, to promote growth and investment opportunities in the region's capital markets. During his participation in the conference, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, participated in a panel titled 'Shaping Bahrain's Sustainable Future.' Shaikh Khalifa highlighted the role of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting in driving sustainable growth and discussed recent advancements in ESG practices within Bahrain's capital market. 'Our involvement in the HSBC GCC Exchanges London Conference 2024 reflec ts our ongoing commitment to positioning Bahrain as a leading hub for international investment,' Shaikh Khalifa said. 'By engaging directly with global investors and showcasing the capital market's advancements, we aim to attract sustainable investments that will contribute to the long-term growth of Bahrain's economy. ESG reporting is a critical component of this strategy, as it ensures transparency and accountability, fostering trust among investors.' The Kingdom's delegation participated in meetings with leading international fund and asset managers, which discussed Bahrain's capital markets and insights into the listed companies and burgeoning investment prospects. Joseph Ghorayeb, CEO of HSBC Bahrain said that Bahrain is working to develop its economy and solidify its position as a prominent hub for international finance and trade.
