Isa Al Shaiji, Chairman of the Bahraini Journalists Association lauded His Majesty's royal message, noting it as a testament to the great royal appreciation for national journalism, particularly its role in Bahrain's developmental journey and democratic progress under His Majesty's reign. Al Shaiji expressed appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, observed annually on May 3rd. He emphasised that His Majesty's directives in the royal message reflects a royal appreciation for journalism in general and Bahrain's national journalism in particular, acknowledging its national role in building and developing the kingdom. Al Shaiji commended the royal direction highlighted in His Majesty's message, focusing on environmental issues and enhancing awareness about their impacts, aligning with Bahrain's initiatives in this field. He affirmed the commitment of Bahraini journalists to support the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khali fa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's, to promote further development and to protect the environment. He also commended the support of HRH for the role of journalism in Bahrain. Moreover, Al Shaiji highlighted the significance of designating Manama as the Capital of Arab Media 2024, attributing it to the laws and legislation enacted under His Majesty's democratic and pioneering comprehensive developmental process, enabling Bahrain's media to thrive in an open space of responsible freedoms. In conclusion, Al Shaiji said the BJA was honoured by His Majesty's recognition of its contributions to Bahrain's progress and commitment to upholding professional standards, pledging to continue fulfilling its noble mission under His Majesty's reign.
