Bank Al Maghrib Keeps Interest Rate Unchanged at 2.25 Percent

Rabat: Bank Al Maghrib announced Tuesday that its key interest rate has been kept unchanged at 2.25 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement following its second quarterly board meeting this year, the bank emphasized that the decision was influenced by the evolution of inflation at levels consistent with the objective of price stability over the medium term. Additionally, the significant acceleration of non-agricultural growth and the consolidation of expectations contributed to maintaining the current rate. The bank highlighted the strong uncertainties surrounding the economic outlook as a reason for this decision.

The bank also noted that its board of directors will continue to monitor the transmission of its recent reductions in the key interest rate, particularly focusing on the financing conditions of small and medium-sized enterprises. Future decisions will be based on the latest updated data reviewed at each meeting.
