Doha: Barcelona won the 11th edition of the Al Kass International Cup football tournament after defeating Paris Saint-Germain 5-2 in the final match held at Mansour Muftah Stadium.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Spanish team's goals were scored by Artem Rebak, who netted twice in the 9th and 60th minutes, Ignasi Marti in the 41st minute, and Hugo Langunas in the 52nd minute. Paris Saint-Germain's Mathieu Petit inadvertently added to Barcelona's tally with an own goal in the 77th minute. The French team's goals were scored by Moulaye Niakate in the 11th minute and Abdel Shahid Al Mazwari in the 38th minute.
Barcelona, who won the title for the first time in their history, joins the list of tournament winners, which includes Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid with three titles each, Aspire Academy with two titles, and both Fluminense of Brazil and Rangers of Scotland with one title each.
Prior to the final, the Mohammed VI Academy secured third place after defeating Aspire Academy 5-4 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the third-place match. The Moroccan team took the lead through Imran Dakich in the 41st minute, but Aspire equalized through Adham Adnan in the 82nd minute.
Barcelona captain Langunas was awarded Player of the Tournament, while Iyad Hamza from the Mohammed VI Football Academy received the Best Goalkeeper award. The Top Scorer award went to Riku Inada of Kashiwa Reysol of Japan, who scored 6 goals.
