Washington - Ma'an - Today, Saturday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken repeated his warnings against a major Israeli attack on the city of Rafah, south of Gaza, saying that "Israel has not presented a plan to protect civilians." Blinken said, at the 'Sedona' forum, organized by the McCain Institute in Arizona: 'We cannot support a major military operation in Rafah, because the damage it will cause exceeds the limits of what is acceptable.' He pointed to "difficulties in negotiating with Hamas," explaining that "the Hamas leaders with whom we are holding indirect talks, through the Qataris and the Egyptians, of course live outside Gaza."
