Bayer leverkusen: Bayer Leverkusen fell to Hoffenheim, 2-1, in their opening match of the German Bundesliga season on Saturday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Jarell Quansah gave Leverkusen an early lead in the sixth minute, but Hoffenheim responded with two quick goals from Vesnik Aslani and Tim Lemberle in the 25th and 32nd minutes, respectively.

The win earned Hoffenheim its first three points of the season, placing the club sixth in the league table. Leverkusen, meanwhile, remains scoreless and sits in 13th place.

Elsewhere in the opening round, Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Werder Bremen, 4-1; Union Berlin edged Stuttgart, 2-1; Wolfsburg beat Heidenheim, 3-1; and Augsburg matched that scoreline against Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund is set to close out Saturday's fixtures with a match against St. Pauli. The round concludes Sunday with Mainz facing Cologne and Borussia Monchengladbach taking on Hamburg.
