Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan. The meeting addressed significant bilateral relations and national policy advancements.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi highlighted the Cabinet's commendation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's official talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The discussions underscored mutual trust and aspirations for developing relations in various fields, emphasizing cooperation on regional and international issues like the Palestinian cause and humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
The Cabinet also praised HH the Amir's talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, noting the advancement in economic cooperation and bilateral partnership between the two nations. Similarly, the meeting with Syrian President Ahmed Al Shara focused on enhancing political and diplomatic cooperation.
Key approvals included a draft Amiri decision to amend provisions related to the anti-doping laboratory, and the establishment of the Qatar Anti-Doping Agency, aimed at bolstering anti-doping efforts in sports. The Cabinet also agreed on forming a digital safety committee for children and adolescents, based on a proposal from the Shura Council, to ensure a safe digital environment.
Further, the Cabinet approved the reorganization of a committee to oversee food security policies, aligning with the National Food Security Strategy 2024-2030, to foster a competitive Qatari economy. Additionally, the Cabinet agreed to the draft agreement establishing the Arab Energy Organization and related protocols, and various cooperation agreements with Uzbekistan and Korea, enhancing diplomatic, legal, and intellectual property collaborations.
The meeting concluded with the review of four reports, leading to decisions on issues such as electricity consumption stabilization, chemical materials regulation, and outcomes from Qatar's participation in international forums.
