Cabinet Approves Multiple Draft Laws and Agreements in Weekly Meeting

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting held at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday afternoon. Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi issued a statement detailing the proceedings.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet began by commending the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Strategy and Qatar National Manufacturing Strategy for 2024-2030, launched by HE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. These strategies aim to foster sustainable economic growth, diversify economic sectors, and boost the private sector's contribution to the GDP, aligning with Qatar's National Vision 2030.

The Cabinet reviewed various topics on its agenda, including the Shura Council's approval of a draft law on the state emblem, which seeks to provide legal protection and regulate its use. Furthermore, a draft law on drones was approved and referred to the Shura Council to establish a legal framework for drone use, ensuring air navigation safety and encouraging innovation in the sector.

The Cabinet also provisionally approved decisions regarding the coordinates of tourist areas with distinctive features and the classification of some regions as tourist areas, aiming to enhance tourism services and elevate Qatar's status as a global tourist destination.

In international cooperation, the Cabinet agreed to ratify an agreement on international land transport and goods with the Republic of Turkiye. Additionally, it approved Qatar's membership in the Secretariat General for Centres of Documents and Studies of GCC States and several draft agreements on cooperation with Algeria, Oman, Djibouti, Paraguay, El Salvador, and Chile.

The meeting concluded with the review of four reports, including the National Framework for Promoting Values and Morals in Qatari Society for 2024, prepared by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Additional reports included the Qatar Development Bank annual report for 2024, participation results from the 35th session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, and the World Healthy City Forum 2024.
