Morocco: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the opening of a formal investigation into incidents that occurred during the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final matches currently being held in Morocco.
According to Qatar News Agency, CAF has stated in a publication on its official website that the events surrounding the matches between Cameroon and Morocco, and Algeria and Nigeria, have been referred to its disciplinary committee for necessary investigations.
The governing body emphasized that it would take appropriate action should any violations be confirmed, underscoring its commitment to maintaining discipline both on and off the pitch.
The semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations are due to begin on Wednesday, with Egypt set to face Senegal, while hosts Morocco will take on Nigeria. These matches are highly anticipated as teams compete for a place in the final.
