Cairo: The Cairo International Film Festival has unveiled the complete lineup for the upcoming 45th edition, which will take place from Nov. 13-22, 2024. The festival will feature 194 films from 72 countries around the world. According to Qatar News Agency, the Palestinian film "Passing Dreams" has been selected as the opening film of this edition, marking its world premiere. The movie is written and directed by Rashid Masharawi and stars Ashraf Barhom, Adel Abu Ayyash, and Emilia Massou. The festival includes a variety of awards for the international competition, horizons of Arab cinema, best feature films from Africa and Asia, as well as the best documentary film, with a special competition for films from Gaza and an award for Palestinian films. Additionally, there will be training sessions, discussion panels, and workshops on production, sound design, storytelling, distribution, and promotion.
