Doha: In its editorial, Al-Watan daily reported the implementation of a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, marking a return of displaced individuals to their homes in the south and Beqaa regions. The returnees have been seen raising flags, signaling a sense of victory amidst the ongoing tensions. These attacks have led to the deaths of 33 individuals and injuries to 134 others, highlighting a severe humanitarian crisis with no immediate resolution in sight. Furthermore, Al-Watan emphasized Qatar's support for the Lebanese ceasefire, while underscoring the urgent need for international intervention to halt the ongoing aggression in Gaza. The newspaper expressed concern over the apparent atrocities and widespread destruction in the region, urging the global community to exert pressure for a ceasefire in Gaza, similar to the one achieved in Lebanon. Mea nwhile, The Peninsula reflected on the cessation of intense fighting in Lebanon, acknowledging the ceasefire as a crucial step towards alleviating the suffering of the Lebanese people. The paper noted that the agreement has garnered support from regional and global capitals, which are also advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza, where Israeli airstrikes persist. Qatar has reiterated its unwavering commitment to Lebanon's unity and territorial integrity, praising the efforts of the United States and France in facilitating the Lebanese truce. The Peninsula concluded by calling on the international community to leverage this opportunity to advocate for peace in Gaza, where prolonged Israeli military operations have resulted in over 44,282 deaths and left an additional 104,880 people injured.
