Chairman of Algeria-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group Affirms Commitment to Strengthening Cooperation with Qatar

Doha: HE Member of the Algerian National People's Assembly and Chairman of the Algeria-Qatar Parliamentary Friendship Group, Yahi Ali, affirmed his country's commitment to enhancing economic and trade cooperation with the State of Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, this commitment was articulated during Yahi Ali's meeting with QC Board Members Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli and Dr. Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed, alongside HE Shaikha bint Yousuf Hassan Al Jufairi, Member of the Shura Council and Vice Chairperson of the Algerian-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group. The meeting aimed at fostering economic and trade relations between Qatar and Algeria, identifying investment opportunities, and exploring potential partnerships between the private sectors of both countries.

HE Yahi Ali highlighted Qatar as a key investment destination for Algerian investors and expressed Algeria's interest in collaborating with Qatari businessmen across various sectors. His visit was intended to explore avenues for closer private sector ties. He also referenced Algeria's recent economic reforms, including updates to investment laws designed to attract foreign capital, such as the new draft investment law aimed at enhancing investor confidence and streamlining business procedures.

Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli underscored the significance of the strong commercial relationship between Qatar and Algeria, noting the presence of successful investment partnerships. He emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in both countries in boosting trade exchange through joint investments. Al Obaidli reiterated that Qatari businessmen view Algeria as a promising investment destination with significant potential.

Dr. Mohamed bin Jawhar Al Mohamed noted Qatar's position as a regional hub for investment and trade, offering incentives and facilities that benefit investors. This environment presents valuable opportunities for Algerian businessmen to expand their investments. He stressed the importance of joint meetings to identify cooperation sectors and highlighted exhibitions in both Qatar and Algeria as platforms to showcase products and strengthen business ties.
