Moscow: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to the Russian Federation demonstrates the prudent leadership's keenness to foster strategic partnerships and expand cooperation with friendly nations, said HE Chairman of the Internal and External Affairs Committee of the Shura Council Yousef bin Ali Al Khater.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Khater noted that the two nations have deep-rooted relations that have significantly developed in recent years across all levels, primarily in energy, investment, food security, and political cooperation.
His Excellency described the visit as a pivotal milestone in bilateral relations, which will open new horizons for cooperation in promising sectors and enhance the level of bilateral political coordination amid rapidly growing global changes. This development is expected to reinforce Qatar's regional and international endeavors.
He emphasized that the Shura Council, through its constitutional powers and ongoing communication with counterpart parliaments, supports initiatives that strengthen relations between Qatar and friendly countries, with a focus on the Russian Federation. His Excellency remarked on the strong and growing relations between the Shura Council and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (The State Duma), which are evident in the enhanced coordination of parliamentary positions in regional and international forums.
He also mentioned an anticipated visit by a Duma delegation to Doha this year, which is expected to streamline bilateral relations and advance multi-level cooperation, aligning with the aspirations and interests of both peoples.
