Beijing: China announced its intention to increase tariffs on United States-imported products to 84 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the US to adopt an approach of fairness, mutual respect, and reciprocity, in resolving the issue of tariffs by means of dialogue and negotiation.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Lin Jian, stated that the US-imposed tariffs on China are a form of economic bullying. He pointed out that the Chinese people cannot be deprived of their legitimate right to development, emphasizing that China's sovereignty, security, and developmental interests are inviolable.

Lin Jian further remarked that his country will continue to take firm and strong measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests, stressing China's readiness to fight until the end, should the United States be determined to wage a tariff or trade war.
