Doha: China on Thursday called on the US to work together to implement the outcomes of their recent negotiating session on de-escalation between the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said during a press conference that Beijing expressed its hope that Washington would work with it to implement the important consensus reached by the two countries' presidents during their phone conversation on June 5, and to make room for the role of the economic and trade consultation mechanism.

He pointed out that the latest round of negotiations was held within the strategic guidance of the two countries' presidents, as the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on implementing the important consensus reached by the two presidents during their phone conversation a few days earlier, and implementing the framework of measures aimed at consolidating the results of the economic and trade talks held in Geneva, especially after new progress was made in addressing the economic and trade concerns of both sides.

He emphasized that his country has always been committed to matching its words with its actions and supporting the commitment to consensus. He expressed his hope that the US side would work with China to expand common ground, reduce misunderstandings, and enhance cooperation through communication and dialogue.

Last week, the two countries held a new round of talks in Geneva, Switzerland, on their trade, economic, and other disputes, with the participation of ministers and high-level officials from both sides.
