The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed on Monday on the importance of ceasefire and ceasing hostilities in the Middle East, following a series of the latest incidents the region witnessed. Reacting to the targeting of multiple Iranian military sites by Israel last Saturday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Lin Jian, said that China rejects the violation of sovereignty and security of other nations, including the random use of force. Jian added that the situation in the Middle East is extremely tense, stressing that the international community, especially countries with significant influence, should effectively play a constructive role and lay the essential groundwork for mitigating the severity of tensions in the region.
