China: China's electronic information manufacturing sector grew 11.3 percent year-on-year in the first four months of this year, 4.9 percentage points higher than the average level recorded for the entire industrial sector. In April alone, the added value of industrial output of major companies in the sector rose by 10.8 percent year-on-year.
According to Qatar News Agency, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reported that between January and April, the added value of industrial output of major enterprises in the sector, each with annual business revenue of at least 20 million yuan (about $2.78 million), rose 11.3 percent year-on-year.
Detailed data showed that during the first four months of this year, among the sector's major products, microcomputer equipment production increased 4.7 percent year-on-year to 105 million units, while integrated circuit production rose 5.4 percent to 150.9 billion units.
According to customs statistics, the country's exports of integrated circuits reached 106.3 billion units during the period, a 20 percent increase, while exports of laptops and mobile phones declined by 0.4 percent and 7.1 percent year-on-year to 43.84 million units and 224 million units, respectively.
During the same period, the combined operating revenues of the sector's major companies reached 5.12 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.1 percent, while their combined profits rose 11.6 percent year-on-year to 159.7 billion yuan.
