China’s Inflation Rate Rises by 1 Percent

Beijing: China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 1 percent year on year in June, official data showed Thursday. The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, on a month-on-month basis, edged down 0.3 percent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

According to Qatar News Agency, the data also revealed that China's producer price index, which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, increased by 4.1 percent year on year in June.
