China: China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported Sunday that the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector in China recorded a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points, reaching 49.4 in August compared to July.
According to Qatar News Agency, in contrast, the PMI for the non-manufacturing sector fell by 0.2 percentage points to 50.3 in August compared to the previous month. A PMI reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 indicates contraction.
