Doha: The General Assembly of the Qatar branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) held its annual meeting, during which it discussed the branch's strategic plan to enhance the expansion of its activities and training programs.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the meeting, a new committee was elected to lead the branch in the coming phase, within a strategic vision aimed at promoting membership in the CIArb Fellowship and disseminating a culture of arbitration according to the highest international standards.
Following the election of HE Dr. Saad bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi as Chairman, and with the membership of a select group of specialists, the new committee affirmed its commitment to organizing specialized courses and qualification programmes; developing specialized programs for relevant entities; and building strategic partnerships to promote a culture of arbitration in society.
The Chairman of the Committee stated that the CIArb branch in Qatar looks forward to working with various entities in the country to enhance Qatar's presence on the international commercial arbitration map and increase the number of Fellowship members, in line with the country's regional and international standing in the field of dispute resolution.
The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is one of the leading international institutions in the qualification of arbitrators, with over 17,000 members and more than forty branches around the world. The Qatar branch continues its growing role in supporting national competencies and promoting a legal environment that supports arbitration and alternative justice.
