Colonists Shoot Two Palestinian Farmers in West Bank’s Qalqilya

Colonists attacked and injured two Palestinian civilians by shooting them with live bullets in eastern Qalqilya today, north of the West Bank. Wafa news agency reported local sources as saying that armed Israeli colonists from the illegal colony of 'Havat Gilad' stormed the eastern side of the village of Amatin, east of Qalqilya and attacked Palestinians while they were picking olives on their own land in Wadi Al-Ahmar. The armed colonists deliberately fired live bullets towards the unarmed Palestinians picking olive, injuring one with a bullet to the head, and the other with a bullet to the thigh, and the wounded were transferred to Nablus Hospital, where their injuries were described as moderate, Wafa added. The area planted with olives in the village is approximately 1,000 dunams, and it is close to the illegal 'Kedumim' and 'Havat Gilad' colonies. The villagers often face dangers in order to pick their olives due to the two aggressive illegal colonies. During the annual olive harvest season, Palestini an lands are subjected to repeated attacks committed by colonists and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF), and farmers constantly face obstacles and arbitrary practices that prevent them from reaching their own lands Source: Qatar News Agency
