Doha: The activities of the fourth edition of the 'Iqraa Marathon' concluded in Saudi Arabia, which was organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture 'Ithra' in cooperation with the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information (AFLI), with the aim of promoting the culture of reading in the Arab world. Participants from five Arab libraries read nearly 1.5 million pages during the marathon, while 17 libraries followed the events with great enthusiasm and diverse readings. According to Qatar News Agency, over the four-day event, participants highlighted the significance of the activities in enhancing reading habits and intellectual growth. The marathon aimed to foster knowledge production and encourage those previously uninterested in reading to explore its worlds. The event saw active engagement from participants across Arab libraries, providing a unique opportunity for exchanging ideas and knowledge, particularly in promoting reading in public libraries, underscoring their role in enriching scien tific, cultural, and civilizational life.
