Doha: President of the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), Eng. Ahmad Abdulla Al Muslemani, emphasized the significance of National Day as a vital occasion that strengthens values of loyalty and belonging, while deepening pride in the homeland and its leadership. Highlighting achievements, Eng. Al Muslemani noted Qatar's leadership in the digital domain, with the country ranking third in the Middle East and North Africa for Internet Protocol version 6 adoption. The nation also excelled in the Telecommunication Development Index, scoring 98.4 out of 100. The CRA has launched initiatives to enhance telecommunications service security and user trust, including an advanced space radio monitoring center and a caller ID initiative.
In the postal sector, developments include appointing Qatar Post as the public postal operator and activating the postal law, which supports e-commerce growth. Additionally, the CRA issued licenses to postal service providers, bolstering competition and improving consumer experiences.
On the international stage, Qatar is vying for membership in the International Telecommunication Union for 2027-2030. The country is also preparing to host the International Telecommunication Union's Plenipotentiary Conference in 2026, underlining its global digital leadership.
Eng. Al Muslemani underscored the CRA's focus on digital transformation and modern technology, viewing them as essential for service development and accessibility.
