Ramallah - Ma'an - The Customs Police Department dealt with 230 cases during the month of July in cooperation with civil partners and relevant security agencies, within the framework of combating smuggling in all its forms and protecting the national economy and markets from any illegal goods and settlement goods. The details of the cases are: 123 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and support the treasury with funds, detailed as follows: - 74 tax and customs cases were seized and taxpayers were referred to the ministry to complete their commercial transactions. - 43 cases of goods coming from Israel were seized without a clearing invoice. - 6 cases in the field of smuggled tobacco, which is banned from circulation due to its economic damage and drain on the state treasury. 70 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to prevent the spread of spoiled, counterfeit and settlement goods, detailed as follows: - Seizing approximately 4.5 tons of expired mater ials and destroying them. - Seizing 2.5 tons (of food, cosmetics and beauty supplies) that do not carry an identification card in Arabic and materials that violate mandatory technical instructions. - Seizing approximately 489 pieces of beaded toys and 121 boxes of fireworks, which are goods prohibited from circulation in the Palestinian market. - Seizing 250 liters of diesel coming from the settlements and prohibited from circulation. In the same context, 20 issues were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security: - During which, approximately 881 kg of expired materials were seized and, based on the decision of the competent authorities, they were destroyed. - [30 kg and 158 strips] of sexual stimulants and nutritional supplements, which are prohibited from circulation and do not have licenses) and were handed over to the competent authorities. - 402 boxes of medical equipment were seized without official papers and in violation of specifications and stand ards. 11 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and in support of the agricultural sector and encouraging local products, including: - 3 cases of agricultural products that do not carry agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from circulation by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture. - 8 cases of animal products that do not carry agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from circulation by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture. 6 cases of illegal communications in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy: - 45 postal parcels and 121 banned Israeli SIM cards were seized. - 57 postal parcels and 36 mobile devices were seized, goods that did not have licenses from the Ministry of Communications. The seized items were handed over to the ministry pending completion of legal procedures. Finally, the Customs Police Department stresses to citizens the importance of their role in submitting reports on spoiled and expired goods vi a the toll-free number 132 or via the department's official Facebook page.
