DAAM Announces Support for Qatar’s First-Ever Polo Tournament

Doha: The Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (DAAM) announced its sponsorship of "Polo Al Marsa ' Qatar 2025" tournament, organized by Qatar Polo Club at the Old Doha Port from December 11 to 13. The event marks Qatar's first-ever polo tournament and comes as part of DAAM's ongoing efforts to promote sports and social activities in the country and support events that foster a sporting culture.

According to Qatar News Agency, Polo Al Marsa tournament will transform Old Doha Port into a vibrant celebration of sport, culture, and community. Spectators will enjoy thrilling polo matches, from youth categories and a women's exhibition match to the Years of Culture Cup, which celebrates sporting ties between Argentina, Chile, and Qatar.

Off the field, visitors can look forward to a range of family-friendly experiences, including a kids' "mini mallet club," along with premium hospitality offerings that reflect Qatar's unique blend of heritage and innovation.

On this occasion, Director of Programs at DAAM, Hassan Yousef Al Obaidly, said that sport is a cornerstone of community building, and competitive sporting events play a vital role in fostering cooperation, creativity, and shaping the future.

He added that the sponsorship of this tournament stems from their commitment to open doors for a new generation of Qatari talent, encouraging them to take part, compete, and embrace the spirit of the game.

For his part, Chairman of Qatar Polo Club, Ashraf Abu Issa, expressed his gratitude to DAAM for its valuable contribution, which made it possible to host the first polo tournament in Qatar.

He noted that Al Marsa Polo represents an important milestone in the development of polo in the country. Through its strategic partnership with DAAM, Qatar Polo Club aims to nurture this sport for future generations while delivering a world-class experience that bridges culture and sport in Qatar.
